No-cost, comprehensive program training

The PG&E Commercial HVAC Optimization Program requires all participating Contractors complete two trainings:​

  1. Sales and Operations (for Owners, Service Managers and Sales Managers)
    This training is designed for contractors to help grow their HVAC business by educating and enrolling customers into PG&E’s HVAC Optimization Program. Contractors will learn how to best communicate the value proposition and benefits of the Optimization Program to a diverse customer base. Topics covered include, but are not limited to the following:
    • Eligibility criteria
    • High-level Optimization Program timelines
    • Workflow processes
    • Use of the contractor portal and web application
    • PG&E marketing materials
    • Marketing and Sales Information including items such as Return On Investment and other maintenance related sales information

  2. Technical Training (for participating HVAC technicians)
    The ANSI/ASHRAE/ACCA Standard 180 Quality Maintenance (QM) Standard takes a comprehensive, properly-sequenced approach that improves HVAC performance, energy efficiency, indoor air quality and comfort. Contractors and technicians will be trained on the following:

    • The ANSI/ASHRAE/ACCA Standard 180 Standard requirements vs. basic maintenance programs
    • QM Program specific test instrumentation
    • Performance of the EE Task to bring units to baseline
    • ADEC (Advanced Digital Controller) troubleshooting and replacement training.
    • Introduction into the Contractor Portal
    • Safety Overview
    • Practical field training
