As a Participating Contractor in PG&E’s Commercial HVAC Optimization Program, you will be able to take advantage of the following benefits:

Contractor Benefits

  • Receive no-cost, comprehensive training that will increase your knowledge and skill-set for implementing the HVAC Optimization service standard with your customers
  • Receive incentives, per unit, to help cover initial inspections, tune-ups, adjustments, cleaning and testing.
  • Enhance your value to your customer as a reliable service provider
  • Increase the frequency of touch points and opportunities with your customer
  • Promote new business sales efforts at a reduced cost
  • Distinguish yourself from other contractors who are not participating in the Optimization Program

Contractor Incentives

Participating Contractors receive incentives for enrolling customers into the Program and for bringing the HVAC equipment to the ANSI/ASHRAE/ACCA Standard 180 Standard baseline. Additional contractor incentives are provided for installing EVC on eligible units.

Customer Incentives

In addition to the incentives paid to the contractor, participating customers can receive up to $3,836 for a three-year service agreement, per unit, based on size, age, and presence of economizer. The customers’ incentives are paid out three times over the course of three-year agreement for Gold Tier, or two times over a one-year agreement for Silver Tier, according the following payment schedule:

When units are brought to a baseline:

Note: The customer incentive is based on pre-qualified Energy Efficiency Tasks being completed and quarterly inspections completed by the Contractor.
